Pricing

Free to plan. One price for the watch.

Planning is free forever, and everything you build works without us. You pay for one thing: the service that keeps watch after you stop checking in. While AmberKey is in development, everything is free; the prices below take effect at launch.

Plan

Free forever

Household

$119 per year

Two vaults, one price. Estate planning is a household decision.

  • Two Watched vaults
  • Circle members can be shared between them
  • One renewal to keep track of

Billed yearly, because this product's rhythm is quarterly check-ins and an annual fire drill, not a monthly decision. Prefer to set it and forget it? A five-year prepay (about $299) will be available at launch. There is no lifetime plan on purpose: a forever promise funded by a one-time payment is exactly the kind of promise we refuse to make.

What we will never charge for

Recovery, ever

The ceremony, the release, the offline tool, the specifications, the source code. Your circle members never pay anything and never create an account. When your family needs this most, there is no bill and no login.

The same cryptography for everyone

No tiers-of-trust games. Free and paid vaults use identical encryption, identical cards, identical recovery. You pay for operation, not for safety.

If you stop paying

Your subscription lapsing is designed to be boring. The switch keeps watching for twelve more months, the same commitment we make about our own shutdown. Your bundles stay downloadable. And your printed cards and the offline tool never expire, because you never gave us anything we could hold hostage. The worst case of not paying us is the case we already engineered for: AmberKey not being there.

A subscription lapsing after your death cannot lock your family out either: release of the encrypted bundle and the offline reconstruction don't stop working because a card on file expired. We are not in the business of ransoming the dead.
